Duc
Founding Translator

HUU DUC NGUYEN
Strategy & Partnerships
Born in Montreal and coming from an immigrant family, Duc (he/him) has lived in communities affected by socio-professional inequalities associated to the lack of linguistic resources that Oktocom aims to solve through its community-empowering business model.
Since the beginning of his bachelor’s degree in translation at the University of Montreal, Duc has worked as a freelance and in-house translator for companies and firms of all sizes, co-founded an environmentally-focused company, worked as a Japanese fine dining chef and launched numerous initiatives to help language students and professionals gain success.
Drawing on these enriching operational and entrepreneurial experiences, he enjoys taking charge of the company’s vision and strategy alignment as well as the creation of strategic partnerships that support Oktocom’s mission.
Outside work, Duc is a big foodie and a local beer fanatic, and loves taking on new art projects.

Jordane
Founding Translator

JORDANE LA SALLE

Jordane (she/her) is a certified translator who graduated from University of Montreal in 2017. She has been working as a freelance translator on her own and for several language companies throughout her studies.
Jordane has been particularly engaged in the student community and in research. Her enthusiasm for words led her to a Master's degree (research option) in the theatre translation field. From her involvement in the organization of the university symposium VocUM: Language and Time, to her contribution to the same symposium as a speaker, and many other university events, she meets Duc, Florence and Gabrielle in the context of her academic and professional activities, before jumping into the Oktocom adventure.
Artistic by nature, she also enjoys singing, playing the ukulele, painting and reading. When her nose isn't in her books, you can definitely catch her singing on her balcony while enjoying a great iced coffee.
